Hehe.

Tapton Toffs.

Congratulations guys n gals.

Pub just across the road called The Old Grindstone is good for sunday roasts (£5.25).

Go down the hill into Broomhill for "The South Seas" a Scream Bar.

Up into Crookes, you've got Pizza Hut takeaway (at the bottom of my road!), a pub called "The Ball" and further along a nice one called "The Punchbowl".

Nearer to Tapton Hall, theres a decent chippy, a post office, and a hair dressers - but to get anywhere you're gunna have to walk either into Crookes, or Broomhill.

Cool. Didn't you also mention that there was a gym located close by? Or am I just imagining the whole thing? Aw, well, at least its close to the law building.

Goodwin Sports Centre / S10 Health is 15 minutes walk if you take the right route.

As for the Crookesmoor (Law) Building about 10 minutes.

One thing I guarentee though is that you'll be fit after you've had a year of walking back home !!

Hehehe, still gonna go to the gym. Anyway Expression, I think I speak for most of us when I say your insight and posts about Sheffield have proven extremely useful. Thanks.

btw You wouldn't happen to have the EXACT times and costs of the gym, I remeber talking to you on MSN about it, but I've forgotten since, it would be appreciated if you could post them here. Thanks.

I got my accommodation stuff through, and what just aint too great is they didn't give me my first choice halls in Ranmoor with all my mates. Instead they've decided to stick me in Tapton. I've heard the rooms are nicer, but the atmosphere in Ranmoor is more lively. Just don't know about this uni anymore, I spoke to the head of the subject I'm doing my degree in, and she also seems like a loon. Her mental state seemed about as stable as Rik Waller on a unicycle....She pretty much scared the sh!t out of me. Great.

Seriously, the woman was shoutin at me on the phone for no good reason, maybe I should tell her epilepsy and crack isn't the best combination. Hopefully, she won't be giving the lectures, otherwise the next 3 years are gonna be about as fun as being circumcised with a pair of rusty pliers.

On a side note, does anyone know if Tapton is decent? I stayed with my pals at Ranmoor when I came up on a previous open day and didn't really bother visiting the other halls.

I am!

The rooms are supposed to be better, I'm too sure, but I think Tapton is the most expensive out of the lot, so expect a load of rich kids. lol. I only chose it cause of the conveniece of it being soo close to the gym/law building.

Yeh, that's another thing I've gotta get sorted. I remember checking the uni gym out on the open day, it seems decent. Just have to budget myself, because somewhere along the line I've f*cked up my calculations and decided I'm gonna need about 15 grand a year, and that's without all those supplements I take. But I'm about as good at maths as a dyslexic is at solving crosswords, so I don't trust the accuracy. I've also gotta hook myself up with a mini-fridge and a mini-oven. I've seen how students live, so f*ck me sideways and call me Matilda if Ima be able to cook anything in those kitchens after drunken antics have taken place in there. The worst kitchen I saw was at my mates second year flat, cooking in there was about as appealing as watching a circus freak pick leftover food out of her beard. So I gotta hope the rooms are a decent size, because if they aren't, with the amount of stuff I'm bringing, Ima be stuck up sh!t creek with no paddle, a hole in my boat, and Lisa Riley clingin onto the back of it.

On a side note, do we even f*cking have kitchens as it's a catered hall? If we don't, excuse my slightly scary and obsessive domestic orientated outburst above.

There are usually small pantries for you to prepare your own food though if you wish.

The Tapton people will have little money left to buy their own food to cook !!
