Harvey Nichols Interview HELP!

I applied for a job at Harvey Nichols a few weeks ago because they were the only retail company at the student part time jobs fair. I just handed in a CV and wasn't too hopeful.
Today I got a voicemail from them about an interview this friday, I phoned her back and its about half an hour long :eek:

I've never had to prepare for an interview before as my last employed just gave me an interview there and then when I handed in my CV.
I'm worried about what to wear, its a lot more upmarket than my last job and I'm not sure what will be expected in the interview either. Oh and I've never even been in a Harvey Nichols before so I really don't know what to be expecting.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well harvey nicks is like a more up scaled version of selfridges. i would say dress to impress! do you kno what department you will be placed for? usually half an hour is the normally how long interviews last for. ive had one which lasted over an hour! just prepare for all the customer related questions etc and try to come across as confident and im sure you'l be fine.

k wear a very i mean very short skirt. u have to look the part. head up no slouching. be confident and bam ur a star.

hy fyon i have interview at harvey nichols next week which i am very nervous about. what was ur interview like? what questions did they ask? how many people interviewed u? any advice will be muvh appricated. thankx danny

I had an interview there basically its two interviews. In the first one its an interview with one of the people who work in HR and they ask you questions you'd get asked in a normal retail interview, then they talk through your cv and then you have to sell an object. I had to sell this calculator. If you are successful enough for a second interview it will be with the Department managers, this is a less serious interview and they will want to get to know more about you. They will also ask you about your favourite designers and you will have to sell something again, this time a product. I had a choice out of perfume, shoes and something i cant remember but I chose the shoes because im used to selling shoes and thats it! Best advice I can give is dont be nervous, ALWAYS smile...they love that at Harvey nichs and just be yourself.

What if you have a bigger bone structure and aren't a naturally small slender woman?! I have an interview for a Cash office position and am way bigger than most young women like me in their early 20's! As in bone structure and way more filled out as if my body is way advanced if you get what I'm saying. No offence but you sound like a complete dickwad.
