Hi, for social inequalities in the UK could someone please explain to me what the Big Society is and what the Third Way is?

I understand that the welfare state is collectivist and was introduced under "new Labour", and the welfare revolution is a more individualist approach to the benefits system and was introduced under the Conservatives but where do these things come in?

Also, if asked about the benefits system are we allowed to write about either the welfare state or revolution?
