Too Much Too Young thread

Kind of the opposite of depression.

Are you buring the candle at all 3 ends, fear you're out of control?

Caught up in relationships & a social life that isn't really what you want?

Here's a place for you to share or give advice.

Meanwhile here are some words from the Specials song of that name.
(obviously they were concerned with young women growing up too fast by having kids to get their own flat & generally live off benefit)

You done too much much too young
Now you're married with a son when you should be having fun with me

Don't wanna be rich, don't wanna be famous

Ain't he cute, no he ain't
He's just another burden on the welfare state

Call me immature, call me a poseur
I'll to spread manure in your bed of roses
Don't we wanna be rich Don't we wanna be famous
But I'd really hate to have the same name as you

You done too much much too young
Now you're chained to the kitchen making currant buns for tea

Ain't you heard of the starving millions
Ain't you heard of conraception
Do you really wanna go with the sterilization
Take control of the population boom
It's in your living room
Keep a generation gap
Try wearing a cap

Hmm, I've seen better lyrics.

You can be all the things you've said, and depressed.

I don't see how this is the opposite.

Because you can be all those things and the opposite.

So high on life you burn out.

Maybe it would help me see what point you're trying to make if you defined "high on life" and "burn out".

Not enough sleep, too much partying, alcohol, drugs, resulting in shallow relationships, no love or direction . . . substituting short-term experiences instead.

The classic "Rock 'n' Roll" lifestyle.

My main opinion on that kind of lifestyle is that the people that live it are usually deeply depressed.

This thread is odd. What is the actual problem?

This thread is for people who can relate to / have experience of what I have said.

If that doesn't include you, may I suggest that you either lurk 'n' learn, or just leave.

I've been there and done it BTW, from the age of 13-15 I was INSANELY out of control, I mean, it took almost getting killed for me to wake up and smell the roses, oh and my [then] boyfriend to run away from me leaving me nothing but a bottle of cider and a fivers green.

Ehehehe, this thread. So high on life that you burned out...?

Let's start with, at our age almost zero people have had so much of a good time and seen enough of the world to ever be able to claim to have burned out.

Then, there's the Kurt Cobain quote "I'd rather burn out than fade away". So, burn hard enough and die young is, I think, the message there.

Technically Kurt Cobain quoted Neil Young to say that (sorry sorry sorry),
but this post is definately the most intelligent one in this ridiculous thread!

Having been told by the thread starter that apparently I'm not cool enough to post, I must question what his/her experiences are that have led to such an odd and abstract post. Talking vaguely about too much experienced and quoting the specials makes for much oddness (and unintended humour).

Neil Young said that? ahahha!

That's completely ruined what I thought to be a cool quote :hmmm:
