Lots of people want to do medicine.

Its one of "those" subjects that many people aspire to study and the entry requirements reflect this.

However that doesn't mean that you have to be an A* student who is predicted 4A's at A level. Of course it wouldn't hurt, but even the fairly average student has dreams and there's no reason why they can't acheive them. Some medicine schools ask for as little as 5 passes at GCSE although this isn't the norm.

I've never been an A* student but i've never wavered from what i've wanted to do. There are courses out there that have lower entry requirements but there's no reason why people can't get the grades if they are willing to put in the hard work.

I think medicine in slowly becoming more representative of society and there's no point in complaining that medicine is full of middle class students if you aren't willing to get in and change it.

This isn't aimed at anyone in particular i just wanted my 1000st post to be something worthwhile lol.
