Are Business & Management courses competitive at top universities?

How competitive are courses like Business & Management, Management or BBA at highly reputed universities Exeter, Bath, Nottingham? Is it likely to receive an offer if you meet their bare minimum requirements?

It depends on your whole application. If you have a good personal statement and reference then you stand a good chance of getting an offer.

Do universities care about whether you attended their Subject Open Days or mini 3-day work placements?

Open days are just a marketing thing where they can persuade you to go there. So no, that won't make a difference to your application. You should try to visit the uni at least once, though, so that you can make an informed decision about whether you actually want to study there.

Attending a work placement isn't going to affect your chances of an offer directly. But you can talk about it in your personal statement (or have it mentioned in your reference) which can show enthusiasm for the course.
