How would you find the x term from a formula that contains quadratics?

    How would you find the x term for the equation below:
    3x(the x is then squared)+14x = 30

    Completing the square
    Or rearrange the formula then use the quadratic forumla which is -b+-√-b(squared)-4ac /2a
