There is a difference between believing and making animals unnecessarily suffer because of your beliefs. The latter should be challenged.
It wasn't that part - it was the part where he said they should just eat bacon.

There is no good reason not to eat bacon. Although in moderation as processed meat isn't great for you.

The reality is that there is no difference between halal and regular meat in most cases.
The animals are raised the same way, stunned the same way, slaughtered the same way, the meat looks the same, cooks the same and tastes the same.
The only practical issue is with the 15% that is not stunned before slaughter. Studies conclusively show that the animal suffers avoidable pain and distress if it has its throat cut while fully conscious. Because of the small but specialised demand for the non-stunned meat it is unlikely to be available in your average restaurant or high street non-halal butcher. Major supermarkets will only stock pre-stunned halal meat.

There is also the political issue of allowing people exemption from the law on the ground of religion. This loophole should be plugged - in all cases.

But it's their choice and belief ...(within reason) they can eat what they want and reject what they don't. As long as they don't force it on anyone else, it's fine.

But being against halal meat is not racism. I think we're all in agreement.

They can believe what ever they like, not do whatever they like.

Anyone that agrees with the title should be culled for their own safety.

Obviously not. And even if Islam were a race, opposing halal food wouldn't be racist, just as not liking Nigerian food for example, isn't a hate crime against black people

Why does it matter if the animal dies no matter what? Surely that's inconsequential? Don't mean to sound rude sorry
    Animals have feelings too

Why does eating halal meat hurt you sorry?
Primitive beliefs and superstition harm society as a whole. It holds us back. And halal meat causes added suffering to an animal. There should not be exceptions on animal welfare just because someone believes that an animal has to be slaughtered a certain way.

That's just dismissing their beliefs. Just because you see their views as ridiculous, they don't. That's what they believe.

What we should aim for is a world where people can believe in what they want and not be harassed for what their belief is. I believe in what I believe in, so do you, so do Muslims, Jews, Sikhs etc.

People are allowed to be against halal meet like Muslims are against bacon. If they don't want to eat bacon, that's their choice, more for me. If you don't want to eat Halal meat just don't eat it. That's not racist because as well as having nothing to do with race, it's a choice you make.

You are allowed to believe whatever you want, just don't force your belief on others.
What a disgusting post. So I should respect peoples belief even if that leads to the suffering of animals? Seriously **** that.

If I think something is morally wrong then I am not going to respect people that do it.

Its like saying that if you're against rape thats fine but don't you dare force your opinion onto rapist.

No we should aim for a world where people use logic and reason to judge what is right rather than superstitious beliefs.A world where gods and legendary figures are not placed above someone's own children or kin.Beliefs do not automatically deserve respect.People used to believe in human sacrifice should we respect that too? This argument does not stand up to scrutiny because when billions of people believe in a certain thing then it tends to affect other people not just those who believe it.Religion never seems to stay out of other people's lives.

Since they're only against it because it relates to muslims.
Halal meat should be banned BECAUSE it is Muslim

I don't understand why that matters though since the animal dies regardless, as far as I know non halal factories have incredibly inhumane practices regardless. If you care so much about animal's feelings then why eat meat at all?
