We are in Year 8 now, this bull market began in 2009 after the great recession and is still going. The DJIA has topped 20,000 and the FTSE 100 is closing in on 7500. How far do we have to go before we hit the next recession?

Shiller P/E is at pre crisis levels but nowhere near 1999 levels.

Not even an index fund? You should just keep adding every month, regardless of what the market is doing. You will be rich when you retire then.

Maybe, but they are rich. If you had bought $1000 worth of Microsoft stock in 1986 when it floated on the stock market, you would have $990,000 now.

on the Day of Resurrection, his wealth will be presented to him in the shape of a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two poisonous glands in its mouth and it will encircle itself round his neck and bite him over his cheeks and say, “I am your wealth; I am your treasure.”

I don't think there is a bubble. The stock market has performed badly since 1999 comparing it historically or to other assets such as property. I'd be surprised to see a major downturn in the next 5 years.

It will stay bullish as trump is continuing to deregulate. No signs of stopping

The next crash will be HUGE. We're still suffering from 2008, I think a crash in the stock market combined with a property bubble burst will trigger something huge. I don't see either markets as sustainable.
