I'm in year 12 at the moment, and have been looking at courses and Mechatronic Engineering really caught my eye, and in particular at Sheffield. I was just wondering if anyone here has done this course and what it was like?

    Thank you

I'd recommend looking into the ACSE department rather than Mechatronic Engineering specifically as all their degrees share a common core in 1st year and the content/options is very similar afterwards.

I'm studying aerospace and specialise in ACSE so do plenty of their modules, the department is one of the best in the world for the subject and the best in the UK by a good margin. Teaching is at a very good quality with highly regarded professors and a good amount of practical work, good facilities, good range of modules with anything from Biomechatronics to Computer Graphics to Space systems.

Only negative comment I'll make is that ACSE students are renowned for being quite dim compared to the aeros and bios which share courses with them.
