Here are two of the comments ive found online...ive collected a fair few myslf thinking it was genuine but im not oo sure now...what do you think?

A note regarding bottle top collections: At present we are not aware of any group that will accept plastic bottle tops either for cash, or as a means of donating a wheelchair or any other piece of accessibility equipment. If you believe you know of such a scheme, contact them direct to make 100% certain that they are willing to take bottle tops. The only scheme that Waste Watch is aware of doing this is based in France, and WILL NOT take tops from the UK.

    REQUEST FOR HELP
In July 2004 member of the public approached Ellesmere Port Fire Station with a request to help him collect plastic bottle tops. His son, who is in hospital and very poorly, now requires a wheelchair to get around.

The company that provides the wheelchairs said they would donate one to them if they can collect its weight in plastic bottle tops. Any sort of plastic tops will do such as off…

Milk Bottles, Sauce Bottles, Water Bottles, etc.
We would be really grateful if you could collect bottle tops at home or work, bring them to Ellesmere Port Fire Station, C/O FF Brothwood. The more the better and the sooner this child can start to get around.

    Wot do you think??
