Weird thoughts and paranoia.

Hello all, I posted a while ago about hearing voices. Thankfully that seems to have stopped but now I have different problems. I keep getting really paranoid and having strange thoughts, for example in class the other day I really felt that the girls behind me were going to stab me in the back with a pair of scissors. I also thought a spider in the bathroom had a camera and a microphone in and was spying on me. My mother says it's just down to being a teenager but I wondered what you'd all think of it. I haven't used any drugs or anything like that.

Thanks

If it's really affecting you, I suggest you talk to a professional....

I think its related to your previous problems with hearing voices. The same problem coming out in different forms, perhaps. I think you're best off talking to a Doctor. They might be able to put you on something to make it ease off, or put you in contact with someone who can help

I sometimes get feelings a bit like that, that people are all watching/talking about/laughing at me etc or that they want to hurt me. I've also heard voices when under a lot of stress.

As long as you realise that the feelings are a little silly I think it's ok. If you start believing them then you should maybe see a doctor.

Please go to the doctor, OP. If you read my response to the last post you'll remember that delusional paranoia is a symptom of schizophrenia amongst other mental illnesses.

Thank you
I think, qubog, that you are right, but it's sort of hard. I feel like I'm being silly and worrying over nothing.

defo not "being down to a teenager"
see a counselor

What's wrong having that level of awareness? Less chance of someone stabbing you in the back, but what chances are of that happening?

As long as you realise these paranoid thoughts are irrational you should be fine. I'd be hesitant to go to doctors explaining these fears. The "cure" for these kind of problems is a hellish experience in its self. PM me if you have any questions.

I think you have just kind of convinced yourself you are having these symptoms after thinking you were hearing voices and whatnot :/ correct me if I'm making assumptions here.

No, thoughts like that always pop in to my head randomly. I mean, the voices I heard weren't telling me to do things or whatever, they were only calling my name (and they were people I knew for the most part). I just have a thing when people sit behind me, I always think they're going to do something and I always think someone is watching me via a camera or something.

The fact that you acknowledge that you 'think' someone is watching shows to me that you are just convincing yourself of your illness.

I'm not convincing myself I'm ill, I don't believe I am. I just think I have issues with trusting people and that's probably why I have all these ideas.

I think maybe you're just stressed out, it's normal to hear voices when you're stressed/exhausted.

Do you get much sleep?

Or get laid.... professionally.

Try to find out why this is happening to you. Is it because of the work load? Stress? Any problem you might be unaware of?
If you can't find the source, have someone find it for you. Talk to someone who knows what they are doing.
