Volunteering in Kenya
Hey, has anyone been to volunteer in Kenya? Any recommendations? Is it better to organise it yourself or go through an organisation?
Kenya is such a beautiful country you are going to have an amazing time. Is there anything specific you want to do? There are so many volunteer programs in Kenya and I guess it depends what you are looking for. You can apply direct to local organisations which will be cheaper but then you might need to arrange flights, accommodation, airport pick up etc. Some international volunteer organisations offer packages which make the whole process easier but you will usually need to pay a fee. Maybe have a browse of projects and see if anything appeals to you before making your decision. Also check feedback and reviews on Facebook pages etc.
Also be sure to go on a safari and make sure you book a trip to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - the work they do to help wildlife is amazing.
