My journey to 3A's blog

Hi everyone, I thought I'd start a blog to help motivate myself to really structure my revision better whilst possibly helping other people. I am currently taking Maths, Physics and Chemistry. My aim is to achieve 3 A's this year. Here are the exams I am taking this year
Maths(Edexcel)-C1(87 UMS)-C2(Resitting this year)-M1(Resitting this year)
-C3(Taking this year)-C4(taking this year)-S1(taking this year)

Physics(OCR A NEW SPECIFICATION)- Paper 1,2,3 to be sat this year.
Chemistry(AQA NEW SPECIFICATION)- Paper 1,2,3 to be sat this year.

I started my revision back in February but never really emphasised exam practice. I did a few past papers now and then. I plan on doing the following in the lead up to my exams-
MATHS
C2-Complete all past papers(already done),Complete all Solomon Papers(almost done),Complete edexcel practice papers(Not done yet)
C3- Complete all past papers(already done), Complete all Solomon Papers(almost done)
C4- Complete all past papers(I've done about 4 papers so far)
M1-Complete all past papers(already done)
S1-Complete all past papers(already done)
PHYSICS
I have already completed all the content and done all the summary questions from the book I will focus on past papers soon. g481 and g482 papers are complete.
PAPER 1 content- Thorough review(needs to be done)
Paper 2 content- Thorough review(needs to be done)
paper 3 content- should be done once content for 1&2 are completed.

CHEMISTRY
I have already covered the content but I am thoroughly reviewing content I will start papers soon.

I will try and post my progress daily.

MAY 20,2017- What I did today.
I briefly recapped S1 content ( took about an hour)
I completed my thorough review of A2 organic chemistry. I spent most of the day perfecting my knowledge of synthetic routes. Organic chemistry is relatively easy with (in my opinion) little application. Initially I found that remembering all the content was the hardest part of my revision but I introduced spaced repetition to my revision and I found that it really helped.

I've found that knowing the synthetic routes well aids your overall understanding of organic chemistry, for this reason I rewrite the entire synthetic routes map every morning. I did a second review of organic chemistry A2 after writing out the synthetic routes and I must say everything seemed to click quite well. I completed questions by topic from a CGP textbook as I believe 1 source is not enough.

-I look to complete about 4 C2 past papers from the Edexcel practice papers today, I've managed to average 70+marks so far, the highest I have scored in a paper is 74 so far and the lowest being 64(this was what I scored on my first paper for C2 this year). Overall I feel fairly confident but I need to watch out for silly little mistakes.

-I will recap s1 briefly and complete 1 past paper today as well.

My peak week for papers will start on the 29th of April (at this point I will be doing papers for each subject every day), I will be starting C3,C4,M1,S1 Papers on the 25th alternating between c3 and c4 each day in the mornings and m1 and s1 in the evenings.

-On the 24th after my C2 exam I will do a recap of AS chem and AS physics followed by 1 g481 paper and a g482 paper. I will not be doing past papers for AS chemistry only questions by topic from the book (which are essentially past paper questions).

That’s a good question thanks for asking but I’m afraid we’re gonna have to wait for the person to reply back. Thanks again for your question
