All the relevant information which you require can be found in the PA reports which are located on the SQA web-site:

Remember, though, that the pass marks and the marks needed for an A/B/C fluctuate each year depending on the difficulty of the external exam and how all the people sat found them. What I'm saying is, is that they won't be the same each year.

You'll generally find, though, that the A/B/C marks needed for the science subjects are higher than the other (usually high 70's) while English is usally high 60's.

Hi, as someone said already it varies from year to year but as a rough guide try to aim for

Maths - about 75%
English - 70%
Biology- 75%
Chemistry - 80%
French- dont know cos i didnt do it but id think it would be about 70/75%.

if you work reasonably hard then its likely youll be able to get an A for them, the only one i found a bit hard was maths but i got an A for that as well with a little extra work.

Highers are not the equivalent of ASs!

I think if one more person says that, it's going in bold red caps in my sig!

They're worth less than ASs aren't they?

Are you referring to UCAS points?

You can gain admission into Scottish Universities with just Highers, but not English Universities. For English Uni's you should have done Advanced Highers.

How many points are allocated for an A in AS? For Highers if you have achieved an A you get 72 points.

ASs are worth less than Highers.

ASs at A get 60 UCAS points - half of an A-Level/Advanced Higher (both worth 120 at A grade). Highers get 72 points at A Grade so that 5 Higher As are equivalent to 3 A-Level As.
