Do nerds build confidence over time?

As they move in to professions such as banking and medicine, do they subsequently become more confident particularly with the opposite sex?

Most confident people are not born confident, it comes with practice and putting yourself out there.

I can testify as i am a work in progress, although im not nerdy
First of all get this whole 'nerd' thing out of your head people just use it because they are jealous that someone is smarter than them also people tend to do stuff that they are suited to for e.g. for business degrees people tend to be more confident because careers associated with degree need people like that same for medicine etc. If someone wants to become a doctor they should know that it will involve a lot of talking to patients especially GP's and confidence isn't as much of a deal here it's just the ability to adapt to the situation you are in.
