Hi I was wondering if A1AT is a competitive inhibitor or not...is it an inhibitor that works due to Elastase activity..ie in that case would Elastase be an allosteric enzyme?

Too much smoke will prevent A1AT from inhibiting elastase breaking down elastin...in that case is too much Cigarette smoke acting as an inhibitor which inhibits another inhibitor..or am I over complicating? ... I know these are two qs in one ..but ...plz help
Thanks
