My chances?

If I had 5A*s, 5As at GCSE.
AAAB at AS, and AAA predictions at A2?
To do Geog at Durham, Bristol, Southampton, Nottingham etc.

Pretty good I'd say, coupled with a decent PS and references, it would be suprising if you didn't get at least four offers from the six.

All my own opinion, but based on personal experience and that of fellow Geographer friends... You should def get in to Southampton and Nottingham with those grades, and with a good PS, you have a good shot at Durham and Bristol. The latter two can't be guaranteed however - none of my lot had problems, but we all met loads of people at Oxbridge interviews who had not got in to Durham and/or Bristol for Geography.

well, traditionally its thought that they dont like people who apply to oxbridge, so just dont take those who really stand out.

in reality, i think they have more applicants, in fact i know that last year bristol had more applicants than cambridge, its just its thought that the cambridge applicants are of a higher quality.

Thought it was pointless to start another thread about the same thing so...what are my chances? I'm worried my GCSE grades aren't good enough to get me into the top universities i am applying to...

I have 4A*s, 2As and 5Bs at GCSE.
AAAAB at AS (incl. general studies - that's why there are 5)
AAA/AAB predictions at A2 (depending on what i take)

Applying to: Durham, Southampton, Nottingham, Sheffield, Exeter and Reading. All for geog of course!
