Yeah, it's not half term for unis after all.

I would think so; but your school won't send them off then, I imagine. If it all gets sent before half-term, I reckon it would be processed normally (UCAS and universities don't get half-term).

do they?

I somehow doubt that the people who work for UCAS actually have a half term...

I am just worried, that by sending off my application after half term, I will have a lower chance of getting an offer!

Reply 5

I reckon you'll have exactly the same amount of chance, bearing in mind they are supposed to give each application equal attention.
They definately process all half term and most of the Xmas holidays as well....

Supposed to. I heard from a person who knoes a person who knows a person (or my old head of year) that applications before november-ish time on average got 5 minutes of attention, whereas those after christmas-y time got like 10 seconds, including that the admissions dean might read only the first and last sentence of a personal statement.

Will schools not process them during half term then? I would have thought it would be a good opportunity to get through them all? I'm gonna have no chance of getting into warwick now

Well, presumably your teachers are on holiday too, and won't be doing references etc. unless they're being over-enthusiastic about their job. I'm sure a couple of weeks will make little-to-no difference to your chances; I know people who sent their application off in December last year and got into St Andrews, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Newcastle, Manchester etc. Try not to stress about it too much.

I plan to send off my ucas form by 31st october latest. I am applying as an individual, post A levels, so will I be at a disadvantage to other applicants? I am applying for Economics at York,Nottingham,Bristol,UCL.

All my references are done it would have been sent off if she didn't ask me to change my PS. It wouldn't take her long to look through it and send it off but she hasn't so obviously there is something else wrong with it :frown:
