AFI's "Morningstar" always brings a tear to my eye( I don't know where you can find it, do an AOL search or something), and "This Time Imperfect," also by AFI, make tears well inside my eyes also. Go buy their C.D. sing The Sorrow- it's great for when you're in a sad/depressed mood! I hope you feel better too!

Its not until you read the lyrics that you realise how depressing most of AFI's songs are. Morningstar is a brilliant song, infact most songs by AFI are

Definitely, and Fake Plastic Trees as somebody already mentioned. Also try
An Olive Grove Facing the Sea - Snow Patrol
Drive or Saddest Song - Easyworld
Quite a lot of things by Eels, in particular Last Stop: This Town and Susan's House
    Anything by Elbow
In the Ghetto - Elvis Presley
Flaming Lips - Do You Realise?? (Actually quite uplifting in a strange way) or Waitin' for a Superman
    Johnny Cash's version of Hurt
One by U2 or Johnny Cash (both excellent)
    My Drug Buddy - Lemonheads
    Asylum - Mull Historical Society
    Mellow Doubt - Teenage Fanclub
    Sonnet - the Verve
    October - U2

This is both romantic and heartbreaking.....Gold Dust by Tori Amos, from Scarlet's Walk

    Sights and sounds
pull me back down another year.
I was here. I was here.
    Whipping past the reflecting pool.
    Me and you. Skipping school.

And we make it up as we go along.
We make it up as we go along.

You said - you raced - from Langley -
pulling me underneath a cherry blossom canopy -
Do I have - of course I have, beneath my raincoat,
    I have your photgraphs.

And the sun on your face.
    I'm freezing that frame
And somewhere Alfie cries and says,
    ' Enjoy his every smile.
You can see in the dark
Through the eyes of Laura Mars '

How did it go so fast?
You'll say as we are looking back
    and then we'll understand,
we held gold dust in our hands

Gaslights glow in the street (flickering past)
Twilight held us in her palms as we walked along

    And we make it up.....

Letting names hang in the air
What colour hair (auborn or crimson)

    Autumn knowingly stared.
And the day that she came I'm freezing that frame.
And somewhere Alfie smiles and says,
    ' Enjoy her every smile....'
