1. (i) 4 (4 marks)

(ii) 6 \sqrt 3 (2 marks)


2. (i) 0.715 (4 marks)

(ii) Underestimate because trapeziums lie under the curve (2 marks)


3. (i) 1+4x+7x^2+7x^3 (4 marks)

(ii) 11 (2 marks)


4. y=2x^{\frac{5}{2}}-5x^2+27 (6 marks)


5. 2.19 (6 marks)


6. \frac{11}{6} (7 marks)


7. a) 314 (4 marks)

b) i) Show y=2x^2-1 (4 marks)

ii) x=2 and y=7 or x=3 and y=17 (4 marks)


8. a) a=-24 (5 marks)

b) a=30-14\sqrt2 (6 marks)


9. (i) Show and f(x)=(2x-1)(2x^2+x+5) (4 marks)

ii) a) Show (4 marks)

b) \theta=\frac{\pi}{12} and \theta = \frac{5\pi}{12} and \theta=\frac{13\pi}{12} and \theta=\frac{17\pi}{12}(4 marks)


Heck. 9 was wrong. Now fixed.

I do believe that there should be 4 answers to the final question, because it was actually sin(2*theta) rather than sin(theta)

**EDIT** - This has now been fixed

You are incorrect, it was 100% 0.5sin(√theta) not sin(2*theta)

Are there not 4 solutions for last part of last question? As 2x divides by two so answers also fit in range 0<x< 2pi to get 390 degrees and 520 degrees which when divided by 2 also fit in range (change to radians)...

I did the trapezium rule equation is degrees so I got the wrong answer.
Also I got x=-2 and x=-3 for 7bii) still got the right y co-ordinates.

How many marks would I lose for these mistakes thanks!

I got x=3 on q1 because I -4 instead of adding it...how many marks would I lose for both part one and two?

Dear Mr. M, how many marks would I lose for getting the four correct answers at the end but eliminating two of them so I only gave two angles for my final answer?

Lose one for degrees.

Lose one for failing to solve quadratic properly.
