My friend is having a party with the theme 'under the sea'. I need a great idea for a costume (I am a girl). Any ideas?

I like the scuba diver idea! Though I don't really want to go in a wetsuit, so maybe I'll have to give that one a miss! An octopus is a good idea though...

you can go as a snorkeler as opposed to a scuba diver, all you need is the goggles and breathing tube. or you could be a jellyfish and wear a tutu and lots of floaty transparent layery type things.

Metallics are really in fashion at the minute, so a fish-themed costume would be pretty easy to do. Or something like seaweed, with a green ruffled dress and some greeny make-up. A mermaid is the obvious choice, though...and by far the easiest to do. All you'd need to do is wear your hair down with a bikini top, long skirt and a string of shells round your neck.

Ahh my friend had one, it was fab. Anyway, people came as.. mermaid (me) beach babes, scuba divers, surfers, spongebob (one person!) the sea (haha) sand, a jellyfish, pirates, swimmers.... it's a hard one to do, but it's so fun.
