A fortnight of regular texting and three months of texting and calls but I eventually got the girl. She broke my heart 5 months later but it was good while it lasted.

We had our first awkward 'date' in march 2004, then saw each other really sporadically over the course of the year. I waited for him to make a move but it never happened so I took the lead, asked him if he wanted to be more than friends and he said yes. :smile:

We've been together nearly 3 years. I was also the first to say 'I love you' and luckily for me he said it back. :redface:

It was a real challenge. When I first met him he was put off by the age difference and within a few months he was dating someone else. Then he broke up with her and decided that he still couldn't go out with me cos he thought I was out of his league. After a year and a half we got together!

It took us two years, but we finally got together this weekend, the night before he left to start a job at the other end of the country. We were both too shy to say anything before but I'm so happy now that I'm determined to make it work!
