Moved to 'A-levels', you should get better responses here
From the people i know they all said eco was easy to get an A but hard to get an A* and maths is just average as an a-level subject. They are hard for very different reasons and easy for different reasons so it will depend on you.

No way
Economics is fine to get an A in but to get an A* in an A level I think is a bit hard
Maths A level is not easy but if you work its really just fine

I do both and wouldn't say one is easier than the other. It really depends on where your interest lies and how willing you are to work hard. Economics AL is very conceptual and things wont link together unless you really pay attention in class. Maths is all about practice, yes it can at times be extremely tricky and wont make sense until you repeat the question twice or thrice but past papers are the best practice and help to polish your skills.
