So in the AQA Paper 1 exam, I wrote essays on Macbeth and Jane Eyre.I think it went pretty well and I got a lot of good points across. However, I didn't really speak about the contexts in which these pieces were written. I mean I talked a little bit about how Jane was usually victimised and repressed because of her social inferiority compared with Blanche Ingram, the other guests, etc, but I didn't really relate it to Victorian times. For Macbeth I just didn't see how it was applicable to the question. I talked a little bit about context in Paper 2 for Lord of the Flies, but not so much for poetry. I really want to get a grade 8 or 9 if possible - do you think this'll hinder my chances?
