If I fail a part (20%) of a portfolio, can I fail the whole portfolio?

One of my modules is graded entirely on a portfolio. 20% of it is for an essay on critical commentary, and I ran out of time and fuc*ed it up completely (I got around 35% below word count and it was gibberish).
Supposing I do well enough on my other parts to get above 40%, overall can I still fail based on that one failed component? In my module guide, it doesn't say anything anywhere about failing one part meaning you fail the whole of it.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

However, as there is no mention (check if any other modules mention it to be sure that if it existed, it would be written) then you should assume that you are safe.

I've checked some other modules with portfolios, they're written in the same language and don't mention anything about having to pass each component. I guess I'll just wait until next week when the results will hopefully be in. I don't dare ask any staff at uni lol
