OXFORD- do i stand a chance?

Hi guys
I want to take History at Oxford- It's always been a dream for me to study there however my goals are looking quite dull right now.

GCSES:
4A*'s 1C 4A's
A levels:
Predicted all A*s in History,Literature and Geography

Extra curriculer:
Lived in spain to teach history at a primary school
Self-taught myself French/Spanish
Swimmer-Life guard
Work voluntarily in a charity shop and
Ex sea cadet
Of course you do! Work your hardest and do your best!

Why do you think all A* predictions make your application dull?

And you will also have the HAT to "brighten" your application.

Sure you stand a chance. Just make sure you write a strong personal statement and do well in the HAT test, then you should definitely get an interview. I had an interview for History and Economics last year. I didn't get in but it was a great experience. It is always worth a try.

if your personal statement is interesting and your HAT and interviews are strong you definitely stand a chance! gcse results count for a lot at oxford compared to other unis but they contextualise it so if you did well compared to your school's average grades it will look good.
also, how did you live in spain to teach history at a primary school?? and where? my mum's half-spanish and i'm always interested in spain :smile:
