Nervousness (Possibly)

Hi,

i started uni a few weeks ago and often found that people didn't make much effott to talk to me, so i did to them and have made friends and all that.

But today, a couple of them pointed out that i just look a very uncomfortable person who doesn't really want to be approached, very low on self confidence and they were quite surprised when i approached them, even if now they think im a nice guy etc etc

This isn't the kind of impression i want to give out... i don't want people to see me as uncomfortable and unapproachable

The other thing i'd had mentioned to me is that i appear very very tense, and could do with appearing more relaxed... a point that i agree wtih, but how?

Any suggestions? i'll give more info if you want it

Er, why not get a book on body language? That might tell you how to relax your body language to come across as more approachable.

Smile, dont cross your arms, dont look at the floor all the time...
Think comfortable, feel comfortable, drink coca cola :p:

Does indeed help, but wasn't the sort of answer im after... more things to do in total sobriety...

Try to think about what could make you nervous and confront it.

When you approached them what were you like and what did you do? It seemed to work well and they like you so be like that towards everyone else.
