how do the subtopics in topic 8 relate? I can't piece together the different sub topics (making DNA fragments, gene probes, genetic fingerprinting and recombinant DNA). How do these topics link?!

They're all part of 'gene technology' so how we use our knowledge of DNA for health, research etc. Making DNA fragments links directly to recombinant DNA because the DNA fragment we made we then insert into the vector. Probes and genetic fingerprinting don't lie in recombinant DNA technology but are used to identify all of a persons DNA base sequence (genetic fingerprinting) or just a gene for a particular disease (gene probe). This topic can feel a little all over the place but just keep going through it so it is super clear in your mind. Also for me only having just learnt it it makes things a little awkward to remember.
