Depends on the course itself.

It's hard to make a definitive list: while lots of univerisities will probably accept you with DDD, far fewer will actually set their entrance requirements so low.

Reply 3

You could do "Adventure Studies" at some uni in Wales with one E.

And Derby would probably accept you.

Reply 4

Christs college, Cambridge offer a third of their acceptees EE.

Reply 5

None with a degree worth 3 years for, anyway...

Reply 6

Derby will more likely give you an unconditional...however, if you're interested in fashion, Derby's very highly regarded. If not...well, let's just say it's not quite at the bottom of the league tables lol

... is this a joke suggestion...? It is, isn't it? It is!!

I'm fairly sure it's a joke suggestion, but it's actually true (or almost). I thought that a third of EE offers came from Christ's, not they gave a third of their applicants EE.

Obviously if you're only predicted EEE, you won't get the offer. But I guess it's just as close to an unconditional as they can give without tempting you to throw in your A-levels completely.

I have a personal anecdote...someone from my school got an EE offer for Music at Cambridge (might have been Christ's), so it does happen...then again, this guy was a bona fide genius

Reply 10

Oh, I've heard about it happening before alright.

I just don't think we should give the OP false hope...

I think it is more to do with the fact that they think that you are such an outstanding candidate, (ie a minor royal from overseas, or daddy is simply rolling in it), or that they think that having you will add kudos to the college, (ie very good at sport), or has already been mentioned you are very, very good at your chosen subject.

Well no, Its a genuine offer - its meant to show confidence in you - and the fact that for these applicants AAA is a given. Its the lowest they can go whilst still satisfying the University Statues. Althought sadly only given to those deemed to have exceptional ability.

Reply 13

Anyway, aren't we getting a bit off topic here? I wonder what other suggestions could be made for the OP...

Reply 14

It is a third of Christs offers that are EE. They aim for that anyway afaik. Though the other two thirds are like AAAA+ now. Obviously they only give the EE offers to people who would be very likely to get AAA+ anyway. It's just to take the pressure off and make sure they get the students they really want.

Think I saw a load of D/E offers at Worcester Uni. But nobody really wants to go to Worcester....

Can someone make a list, thanks.

Haha, how lazy.

Get the old prospectuses out, get on the phone. It's not easy to make a list, so sadly for you, it's your job. Besides, you haven't even told us what subject you wish to take.

There are a few courses that aren't too bad, but sadly the students don't tend to get much respect from the locals...
