What's so undignified about prostitution? I'd say it's a much less demeaning line of work than sitting on a supermarket till in a humiliating uniform being ordered around by stupid people who nonetheless have more senior jobs than you.

Perspective, dear. I would rather work in a shop than as a prostitute. A nice fat, hairy chested, balding man huffing and puffing pressed between my thighs. No thanks.

Lol, theoretically it's easy money. Honestly, I wouldn't condemn someone for choosing to do any of the above to raise funds. It IS money for nothing as long as there is nothing in your sense of morality that would prevent such things... not necessarily 'loose morals' but if you're religious or you're in a stable relationship, you'd have to think twice... I don't think I could do it personally... even though most of my friends think i'm sex obsessed.. :p:

We pastafarians have notoriously loose moral standards  .
The way I see it, the main trouble with trying to make money from pornography is that the market is fairly saturated.
Wonder if there's a niche for pictures of Oxford girls clad in nowt but a commoner's gown and mortarboard, possibly somehow incorporating bondage and tweed as minor themes? Bet someone's thought of it already...

Makes me think of this, actually http://xkcd.com/305/

It's hardly a rareity in universities, and it's really pretty naiive to believe it is. Remember we're talking about escorts, not street prostitutes. Essentially, it is still selling sex, but these girls are choosing to do so to generate income, not because they're being exploited by some appalling trafficker. The fact is that escorts get paid a LOT - ie £150-300 an hour or even more. You aren't going to earn that in Tesco.

Interesting that Dr Rob sees prostitutuon as a last resort. did he miss the aprt about the really good money compared to a supermarket job - in that scenario the suopermarket job was the last resort.

Ha! Very good! Bottom line - if they're comfortable and happy - leave them to it.

Good for them, unfortunately as males we have no avenues of fast money making as females do, so male students will suffer with thousands of pounds of debt.

Add to the fact that female students expect us to pay for drinks, and other facets that beauty can bring in money and favour wise, I would be surprised if women graduates weren't at least twice as rich as male ones.

Hmm, but for more than you'd earn all week in asda...
I don't deny that it could be fairly manky work, but I don't really see why it is seen as so much more demeaning than all variety of boring, humiliating minimum-wage type jobs. And the 'eww ****ing fat old men' thing doesn't really work for stuff where you don't have to touch them like lap dancing, which traditionally seems to be considered as exploitative of women, but I tend to think that since it is the men who give the women money for not doing an awful lot, it is them who are being exploited...

Yes but statistically, men earn more than women in high-paying jobs. I know this may sound like a sweeping generalization, but as far as I know it's true pretty much everywhere.

I'm sure there is a market for Cambridge rent boys. Besides, girls need guys to buy their drinks and pay for dates etc because we need to spend our money on make up, perfume, lingerie, hair removal... all for your satisfaction..... OBVIOUSLY :flutter:

Become a sperm donor? Or a gigolo? Rent boy?
I bet there's loads of pervy old men out there who'd pay good money to bugger a nice educated young fellow :p: .

Doesn't that apply in upper management and high status jobs only? Hence the "common" man is no better off than females, and why the client base for prostitutes is mostly older, richer men - because they can comfortably afford it.

Just to add to my previous post, I think prostitution at the very least should be legalised - then they'd actually have to pay tax, while at the moment it's good money tax free.

Ironically, as a young male who's not getting much sex, I'm more inclined to go for them myself, using that pay from a crappy call centre for the services - another words, my 2 days work trying to convince people to buy insurance translates to a couple of hours of her dressing up, before lying back and thinking of England.

You complain about the women doing it yet use them yourself? ^o) ok...ever considered there's maybe a reason you're not?

And btw, get a blow up doll if you just want her to sit back and think of England, you'll save yourself a load.

I'll happily become a rent boy for women. I can provide extras such as oral, bondage and submission.

As for sperm donors... you have to fill in form after form, proof of health, ID and all for a one off £20. That doesn't include time wasted to get to the clinic and to spunk my load.

I can't see it being legalised any time soon, even by our tax hungry government.... nor can I see the public demanding it. Nice idea though it is, can you really imagine them in the yellow pages, their wage slips?

I think it's a matter of public record that your taste in men might be considered 'unusual'.

Because I'm just an ordinary guy with no stand out features, obviously.

And where's the part where I complain about women who do it? I'm just pointing out the fantastic pay for relatively little effort, if anything it's envy. Bear in mind that escorts and such can pick whoever they want as their clients, it's not like they have to shag whoever wants their services.
