What am I supposed to do?

Ive just been watching a programme on stress and it said that people in higher status occupations tend to have less illness than those in lower status jobs. Also it talked about adrenaline and mentioned that stress can cause illness, heart disease and that the best way to cope with it is to work out factors which you can and cannot change and change the ones you can.

The thing is Im usually laid back and things which stress most people out don't bother me, for example if someone fell from a building I wouldn't get worked up or scream I would just feel as I usually do and calmly call the ambulance. Though knowing me I would think something stupid like it was an act or wasn't real. Anyway for the last 4 years Ive had anxiety and panic attacks. I get really anxious just having to go shopping or to the bank in case something bad happens. Im wondering how can you stop stress when it takes nothing to make me have a panic attack in the first place?

I found that my "not leaving the house" method failed me, so professional help seems to be the way for you to go.

Or there is the usual "face your fears" attempt to put yourself though, up to you.

I don't think it's 'stress' exactly that is your problem, you may have kind of anxiety disorder, or social for that matter.
