Sexual assault is not nice sounding either.

Egalitarianism depends on effect, not meaningless labels.

The word is not meaningless, people react stronger to the label rapist than sexual assault

Why should 2 crimes of essentially the same thing be named different because of gender?

They aren't the same thing. A woman cannot penetrate with her penis (dah).

She would get life in prison if she used any sexual toy to penetrate a guy. People would still label her a rapist, irrespective of the legal term.
Shia Lebouf said he was raped during his art performance at that gallery. I'm sure they can be if it's to do with a*al but if a guy doesn't consent i'm 99% sure he won't be hard...
Women can sexually asssault, but only men are able to rape.
Yes they can. But proving it is a whole other matter. A man who was raped because he was too drunk to consent can be prosecuted for rape himself.
In the US more men get raped than women

What if a woman cuts the mans penis off, and rapes him with his own penis?

Funnily enough I dont believe this has ever happened, but the definition relates to it being the mans own penis, so its more likely to be sexual assault.

(A) intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person (B) with his penis;

I believe that limits it to males and his penis means it belongs to the accused.

" men can't get raped by women"

You're either some gay tree hugging nonce face

or a retard

He is correct. Men cannot be directly raped by women under UK law. They would be charged with some sort of sexual assault. I think there was one case wth a women being convicted of rape where she was part of a gang and either held down or encouraged the actual rapist.

What do you base that on. Care to link some credible evidence?
There was a story in a newspaper years ago, can't remember which one. A man had his home broken into. Two or three men held a knife to his throat and threatened to kill him if he didn't have sex with the woman who was with them. He did what he had to do, but he described it as absolutely terrifying and left him very traumatised. All the perpetrators were given prison sentences. [ Don't know how a man would get an erection if he was terrified and having to perform under duress, but there you go].

Because one involves a penis and the other does not.

So because one is by a male and the other is not

yes because one is the act of rape and the other is sexual assault. Why is that such a hard concept?

Just by the legal definition the dictionary definition doesn't mention a penis.

Section 2 of the sexual offences act: assault by penetration is the dictionary definition of rape

It is the legal term which is the more credible and relevant definition of what it involves. The dictionary is generalist by its very nature. You can use a legal dictionary or you can perhaps use the actual statute like everyone else. FGS.

The statute is what I am saying is sexist, the definition of rape is, "unlawful sexual intercourse or any other sexual penetration of the vagina, anus, or mouth of another person, with or without force, by a sex organ, other body part, or foreign object, without the consent of the victim." http://www.dictionary.com/browse/rape that would make Section 2 rape.

Do you think a crime is worse if a man commits it?

It is different. You seem unable to comprehend what rape is and that a penis is an essential element.

It is baffling that you are trying to use dictionary.com as a superior source for what the actual law is or the validity of the definition.
