I would just be civil... perhaps say "hello"
After that it's up to her

Reply 2

That was my initial plan. Just find it a bit inconvenient that a part of my past is now cropping up again. Like fate has dealt me a cruel hand but I'll see what happens.

Well im afraid chickening out isnt an option. Be fair and be civil like if she smiles smile back dont ignore her. You dont have to chat to her but maybe say hi when u pass her. If its bothering you that much just get a new job or not let her get on your mind. I wouldn't.

Doesnt sound like a huge problem... just be polite, say hi, how are you etc. And if she starts being a cow she'll just be the one who looks stupid not you

Reply 5

yep a little passing hello would be best. its going to be awkward but trying to advoid one another makes it worse. just try and imagine them as another face.

Reply 6

There's actually more to it than her just being an ex so kind of complicates things.

Well if your embarrased by a past problem with her or you or her have been horrible then maybe this is the time to straighten things out?

Reply 8

Possibly. But when she has had no contact with me for over a year I'm wondering if it would make the situation worse.

Email something along the lines of "Hi X, I know we haven't talked for a while but as we're now working in the same building I thought I'd say hello and break the ice. I know we'll never be good friends, but no hard feelings. Hope all's well."

Something civil and generic would do.

Or prehaps you could go to her face to face as she will have more respect for you if you get a bit of bottle and do it to her face. Im not saying at all that you dont have bottle but she will respect you if you approch her and say hey we havnt talked in yonks how u doin? New boyfriend? Sound approachable for next time and you never know you might be able to talk to her again?

No way! Don't launch in and ask about a new boyfriend. She could totally get the wrong impression.
If they work in different departments, I should think email would be sufficient. It's not like they're *really* going to talk anyway.

Reply 12

Sent her an email last night. Not sure about emailing her over the work one as she might get the wrong impression.

Hidding behind a screen is not going to help matters. Ok youve sentit. Now go see her and talk to her.

Can't just go into her department and strike up conversation with her. Both got jobs to do.

Reply 16

I'll send her a text and see what happens from there.

Gosh. :s-smilie: Give it a day or so if no reply she is clearing being a pain and isnt mature enough to take responsability. If it persists just ignore her and show how you have moved on and really could give a flying flip:wink:
