Hi, guys, I was just going through the spec for OCR Macroeconomics (H460/02) and I came across a requirement in the globalisation topic which states: 'Evaluate the impact of globalisation on developed, emerging and developing economies'

I can evaluate the impact on developing economies, but not developed economies. For anyone not familiar with this spec evaluate means giving benefits and drawbacks and then a judgment.

At this stage, my primary focus is on finding benefits and drawbacks of globalisation on developed economies, but I don't mind if you add a judgement.

If I have been unclear about anything please let me know.

Thank you in advance for all your help.

Think about how each of these affect the macroeconomic objectives.

Benefits of globalisation:

Increased consumer choice
Increased economies of scale and scope.
Lower prices due to increased competition
Increased employment

Costs of globalistion:

Negative environmental effects
Loss of cultural identity ( economies become more homogenous)
Monopolies could form
Tax avoidance (transfer pricing)
