Hey guys, got a place at a uni, Been offered two courses and im confused on which one to take, Either BSc computer science or BSc Multimedia Computer. Can people make their recommendations and tell me which one they would prefer. Also if any one is doing one of the above courses is it fun? and what does it involve from a students point of view.

    Thanks

Multimedia Computing has less maths content and is more 'hands on'...and will include more creative work. You also get to dabble in things like film and music technology, which aren't included on a standard Computer Science course. Computer Science is very theory-based, and you will learn more advanced programming. In a multimedia course, you will do programming, but not in depth.

Computer Science, it provides a far more stable grounding in the subject and opens up more career paths.

To be honest you could probably teach yourself a lot of a Multimedia course, less so the Maths side of Computer Science. Because of this I always recommend taking Graphic Design over Multimedia for those who want to do a creative course.
