No - Your legal. He's legal.

If you enjoy each others company and are sexually attracted to each other.
FORGET age.

S'just a number anyways.

People only say age is a problem, to protect those underage.
Or just because they sometimes find it hard to be able to talk to someone older/younger due to life experiance etc.

If you two get along fine, yadayadayada.

Then should be okay.
It's not the age you should be concerned about - it's the person.
Five years is nothing. :p:

I dont see any problems with that, i mean 17 your nearly an adult, 5 years isn't that much really although a lot would disagree lol.

When I was 17, my bf was 22

Some dude I knew used to go out with a girl from my school when he was 22 and she was 16.

Reply 5

I can't see why that would be a problem, if you like him and he likes him then why not got for it

Goodness sake...it's fine. Please use the search engine.

That's a perfectly reasonable age gap! My boyfriend's 22 (nearly 23) and i'm 18. It's good for girls to be with guys a fair few years older then them, anyway, because we mature faster than they do.

At 17 I think you're old enough to know what you're doing with this. And 5 years is not a particularly massive age gap I don't reckon. What specifically is his problem with it?? It depends on your circumstances I suppose. I was seeing a 28 year old over the summer (I'm 20), and I did feel the age gap was too big there, but that was mainly because he was wanting to settle down whereas I don't feel at all ready. At 22 I wouldn't have thought he'd have that issue?

Depends on the maturity of the people involved. But I know a girl who was 14 and went out with a 22 year old man and I think it's just wrong when you are that young.

when i was 17 my bf was 25....nothing wrong what so ever

Reply 11

That age gap is fine assuming you're a reasonably mature young lady.

Reply 12

Hey, Im 17 and my boyfriend is now 23! Not much of an age gap really to be honest! Your boyfriend shouldnt care about your age, its just how old you two act like together, nothing more.

For the elder person; 'Half your age plus seven'

You're too young.

Another one my friend's older brother suggested was:

the difference between the ages subtracted from the younger age... if its udner 12 it's too young. so 17 & 22 is fine

Half of 22 is 11, plus 7 is 18. Renal was right wasn't he, she's 17. Or am I missing something?

No offence but I don't really know why people bother with that "rule." It just proves that age is only a number.
