BTEC Applied Science - can doing badly in the exam cost me my entire course?

Hello. I've got an exam in Level 3 BTEC Applied Science tomorrow, and I just was looking at the Pearson website to get a final look at how the exams are graded so I can relax a bit. However, one of the pages on Pearsons websites "BTEC grading for students" says that "Please note: In addition to meeting the relevant eligibility requirements and obtaining the total points listed above, candidates need a minimum number of points from the core units to achieve the qualification. Please see Section 10 of the specification for more information." This exam is the first Unit and I believe classified as a core unit..

This is my first and only BTEC - does this say that if I fail this exam, I will fail the entire course? I'm at distinction in all of my coursework, and I believe I did well in the practical exam. My teachers told me this exam was worth 25%, which made sense, but if what this page says is correct, can failing this paper (which isn't hard to do) cost me my entire grade regardless?

Cheers
