Masshosive chinease population. I would say about maybe 20% of students? Maybe a bit more than this but its very degree dependant.

Does Warwick have a big chinese population?

just wonderin:p:

You do know that the University of Warwick is not in Warwick, don't you? It would be more relevant to ask about the population of Coventry.

why are there so many chinese there? i mean, why the university of warwick and not any other??

In fairness I think top unis tend to attract a lot of internationals and Warwick just happens to fit in that category. I'm sure anywhere else in the top 10 has a substantial chinese population also.

chinese people = smart
warwick univerity = a top university

therefore warwick has lots of chinese people
Apparently Warwick is well known in China and India which will of course help it attract students from those parts of the world. Although the guy I lived next to in my first year was from Hong Kong and when I asked him why he chose Warwick, he had simply looked at league tables!

Warwick advertises a lot in China. They've even got their own China office (in HK). See the attached picture. Conincidentally, they've got an India office, as well.

It really depends on the course. I would say that in philosophy, I haven't spotted a single Chinese. In maths, on the other hand, they tend to make up more than a third of the lecture theatre.

cos their parents dont want to see them ever again so they've sent them all to coventry.

perhaps you only looked at BEng civil engineering. BEng civil engineering isn't a very good course at any university anyway. Warwick's engineering department is amongst the best in the country...

still if u have a look at the grades other unis ask for civil eng, they are always higher than the ones asked by warwick.

and im applying for the BEng course because its easier to get accepted, and after the second year at uni u are normally allowed to transfer to MEng if you get the required grade.
