Hey "Banka_accountant" what does
"Newcastle - Business, Accounting + Finance (4yr - PwC)"
mean......... are you like guaranteed a placement at PwC if you get accepted for the course??

Sort of. You do placements while you're at uni. Check out the Uni's website for more details.

Leeds is excellent for Acc+Fin, its in the Top 10 and graduates are very employable (especially if you are looking to work in the Leeds region). There is the option to embark on the placement year and i would highly reccomend you do participate in that.

You'll wonder why Leeds isnt one of my 5 options eventhough i live there. Well its because i really want to move away from home so i had to turn down Leeds, otherwise if it wasnt for that i would have made Leeds my 1st choice. It's a great City uni is Leeds.

When you qualify as an accountant at a big 4 you will be on about £40k. If you leave big 4 with an ACA and go to industry, you will get about £50k for less hours and less stress. Eventually you will settle on around £70-80k if you just turn up and do you job, but you can expect to earn 6 figures if you put your mind to it.

The hours in accountancy are quite long by nature, as it is a deadline driven industry.
