What has your appearance got to do with anything?
At least try to keep track of your own posts. You asked him/her if s/he was 'getting on a bit,' and s/he invited you to look at a picture to judge for yourself.

A job for which apprenticeships/on the job training does not exist.
That's a lie. All the best engineers and techies at the recording studios where I occasionally work/play learnt just by going and doing it. Not that I'm insulting TVU's course, it's probably excellent.

This thread seems to have lots of pointless prejudice and general stupidity, from people with little idea about TVU.

First, it has had a 38% hike in applications this year, the biggest increase of any uni, so your opinion clearly isn't shared by everyone. It also recently merged with Reading College and I've been told the catering course is among the best in the country. I know many people on this forum would turn their nose up at it, but TVU provides a decent service - as has been said, the majority of it's students are part-time and/or mature students, doing far more than just undergraduate degrees. Unlike most unis, it actually serves the community - all summer there have been totally free courses running in subjects like film production and music technology.

I'm standing up for it because of the total ignorance of some members of this forum, and the pointless elitism. Once you graduate you could well find yourself losing out to someone who went to TVU part-time, because employers realise that a straight forward degree isn't everything.
