I hope not, as I am on a polyphasic sleep experiment.

I don't think so...like maybe after lunch or summat they say it's quite healthy.

Then again if you find yourself in need of one several times a day you may have some sort of sleep deprivation

Reply 3

Might stop you sleeping at night but that's all. It won't cause anything but it my be a symptom of something if you need to sleep a lot. Just napping isn't bad at all though.

Reply 4

No, it's actually good for you to take naps.

Reply 5

They take the siesta for good reason in warm countries  But yea, it shouldnt go to the point where you cant sleep at nite because of it...

The most dangerous part of your day is waking up, it's the time when most people have heart attacks- because of the increase in stress hormones.

But I assume you're young and thus very unlikely to need to worry about cardiac problems so you'll be fine.

I think you're going to make yourself more tired though. If you're in a routine of just sleeping throughout the night, then your body knows when to prepare for sleep. If you sleep whenever, you're body is constantly in a state of sleep preparation. (not sure if that's been scientifically proven though but common sense suggests it)

I hope not. I love my afternoon naps

Reply 9

I have a nap straight after college too, it's nice and refreshing.

I hate naps, becasue waking up after the short duration of sleep feels horrible for me.

Then you eat biscuits and chocolate and it all goes away

I remember it being in the papers that Nike have special rooms for employees to nap - it improves their afternoon work performance. It's good so long as its not more than 40 minutes.

Reply 14

It's generally good for you. However i tend to sleep rather than nap ie, i often sleep from 5pm to 10pm and it does wreck night time sleeping. but the reason i need to sleep is because i cant sleep at night... so, im just weird.

and hour or so is good.

Reply 15

The reason you sleep at nite is surely something to do with sleeping before nite? I know some people do have sleeping dissorders, but have you tried to break that cycle? Sleeping's quite important!

Reply 16

nah, i wouldn't have thought so

Reply 17

Varies, sometimes I feel much better if I have like half an hour sleep during the day, especially if I do have a bad nights sleep before. Other times I feel absolutely crap afterwards.

Reply 18

I hope not, I have constant naps between lectures and going out in the eve at uni

Reply 19

I really hope they arent bad for you, i have naps most days when i come back from school. Its only ever since ive had glandular fever though, i must just have gotten into the routine.
