Is there any point in trying to form a nonfamily relationship with my family?

I'm the only cat lover in my whole family.

No one else loves cats.

My father claims to be a cat person as he's had cats growing up but that doesn't make him a cat lover/person.

He's told me that he likes cats. Liking cats is not loving them...

I also have a cousin who "likes" kittens but that again isn't loving cats.

I also don't have much in common with them. My grandmother, sister and I all enjoy baking but they're not cat lovers.

I don't really have any interest in anything that isn't what I like/love.

I talk to my family because they're my family but I don't really see any point in trying to be their friend as none of them love cats.

To them, cats are just animals, to me they're family.

I don't understand why they sometimes ask me about cats when they're not cat lovers, it makes no sense to me.

Yes, I am serious. I don't really talk to someone unless they love cats. If they only "like" them that's only tolerable.

I would if I were able to but I need them. I only tolerant their existence as they're family and I sadly have an emotional attachment to them.
