Is she out of bounds?

Okay, so there is this girl I like, who is best friends with my friend who happens to be gay. Now, I just don't know how to approach this situation. I know that they've kissed in the past, but I don't know if she's out of bounds. Would it be stupid of me to say to him if he'd mind if I asked her for a drink or should I just go ahead?

Also, she's one of the girls that I run into as a group all too often as she hangs around with a couple of my friends. I can't really ask her for her number, as she's always there. So how do I ask her out, seen as she's never on her own? I don't want to ask one of her friends for her number, as I don't think I could be bothered with all the rumours if you get me.

Oh, and another thing. I was asked out on a date, but she canceled on me. Now would it be a complete no-no, if I was to arrange to do the same thing on the same night with another girl?

Why would she be out of bounds? Your friend is gay and therefore shouldn't be involved in that sense.

If you keep bumping into her, just take it from there -- you don't need other people's permission for christ sake.

So what are you afriad of? Are you scared he's going to beat you with his handbag or bitch about you behind your back? He's still the same person, just ask him if you need to. Otherwise, I'm slightly concerned that he's either a tactical genius or just greedy.

Quite frankly, he hasn't got a leg to stand on.
