Probability Distribution

A vegetable basket contains 12 peppers, of which 3 are red, 4 are green and 5 are yellow. Three peppers are taken, at random without replacement , from the basket. The number of green peppers taken is denoted by the discrete random variable X. Draw up a probability distribution table for X.

Goodness! I keep having to search for P(GGG), P(YRG), P(GGY), P(RYY) and everything in between... and so far I've only found the probability of exactly three green is 1/55 :frown: Is there another way?

Try drawing a tree diagram first.

I get 1/55 for P(GGG)

To be honest its not that difficult working it out without a tree diagram. I think drawing a tree diagram would just complicate matters.

I get

P(YRG)=1/22
P(GGY)=1/22
P(RYY)=1/11

Oh yeah. Thanks!
