Comment what questions you can remember so we can combine to create a mark scheme
1) BLOOD CELLS
Most common blood cell or something like that Red blood cells (1)
Infection effect on blood cells More white to fight infection by producing antibodies and engulfing (3)
Less platelets will result in
Not clotting properly (1)
The point of plasma Carries substances like water and glucose (2)
2) transpiration Red dye and celery
Use lamp and change light intensity but keep co2 conc and temperature the same. Observe how dye reacts to this (not sure what it will do but I said it would decrease as it would go in to the celery showing transpiration but I think I'm wrong) (3)
3) human genome
Two advantages of human genome
something to do with scientists working together? And finding sequence of bases? (2 I think)
Graph in year 2001
2130 but I imagine there'll be a range of roughly 2100-2150 (1)
4) circulatory system
What takes blood from heart to body
Aorta (1)
Explain cardiac output graph
Cardiac output increases as x axis (I forgot what was on there) increases. Slight plateau near end?? (2/3)
Explain why the runner would get cramp when he ran really fast
Uses anaerobic respiration because he's not getting enough oxygen so lactic acid produced which causes cramp? (3)
5) protein synthesis
Transcribed to cytoplasm
-DNA double helix structure unwinds
-mRNA strand is formed
-template strand mentioned
-complimentary to DNA strand
-a with t c with g
-mRNA leaves nucleus through nucleus pore
-attaches to ribosome
-in cytoplasm (Really not sure about this one) (6)
6) DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
Compare prebiotic chemical a with b
Every food had more of a than b
(1/2 not sure)
Which food
Onion (1)
No gall bladder effect
No bile so no emulsification of fats or neutralisation so indigestion can occur
(3)
Multiple choice something
Oligosacharrides (1)
Effects of yogurt
Have one person eat yogurt and one person not for a period such as two weeks. Measure health things like cholesterol before and after and see difference (Not really sure about answer for this) (3)
Small intestine adaptations
-villi are folded so they have an increased surface area
-villi have micro villi so more diffusion can happen
-villi have thin walls so diffusion is easier
-good network of capillaries
(explain these a bit) (6)
Other questions
Cells doubling every day how long till 80
3 days (2)
Similarity of embryonic and adult stem cells
Can differentiate into different cells
(1)
Difference of embryonic and adult
Embryonic can be rejected
(1)
Looking at past B2 papers grade boundaries will probably be around:
A* - 49
A - 43
B - 34
C - 25

what did everyone put for the effects of having your gallbladder removed?
what did everyone put for the effects of having your gallbladder removed?
So person will not be able to emulsify facts and pH will not be neutralised
So less molecules will be broken down
Then i said it can lead to constipation

The whole question is about transcription, translation is after it has entered the cytoplasm
