Maths

What if you actually can't pass maths, even after so many tries?
So even if you get the A levels grades to go to uni, you can't go because you didn't pass GCSE maths?
Is there no unis that will let you off?
One of my classmates was accepted to uni despite not having GCSE maths, under the condition that she takes her GCSE maths during her degree (Northumbria University). Some universities accept level 2 functional skills, as it used to equate to a C at GCSE grade, but now it only is equivalent to a D. The university I'm going to would accept level 2 functional skills (University of Sunderland) on my course, but I'm aiming to have Qualified Teacher Status, so I'd need GCSE in maths anyway.
