I put hyperthalamus instead of hypothalamus (the correct spelling) when describing the thermoregulatory centre of the brain that controls body temperature in my Biology B3 AQA 2017 paper today. Will I lose a mark?

AQA are anal with spellings of keywords so you've probably lost that mark.

spellings are only done with words like meiosis and mitosis. This won't be penalised. You should have just said the thermoregulatory system. It would still gotten the mark as AQA doesn't emphasis much on hypothalameous in B3

I haven't done this exam I do core and additional science for our exams spelling is only assessed on 6 mark questions in the level 3 section. If this was a 6 mark question were you wrote this down and you had a 6 mark answer you would get 5. If you had a 5 mark answer your mark won't change you will still get 5.
