I'm not quite sure how you could link the other subjects, but your initial ideas are great, I think! Maybe Geography could somehow be linked to travelling/interest in humans with Human Geography – I'm not too hot on Geography, so you probably shouldn't listen to me! Bang on more about French things (and Spanish, if you decide to do it too), especially literature and history sort of stuff; and, of course, some of the most prolific philosophers have been French. Hurrah to another language person, anyway

Maybe I should get on with writing my PS now, instead of instructing other pople...

I would focus on the reading french literature and travel abroad. You should include one or two titles you particularly enjoyed; preferably these should be prominent, significant and challenging pieces showing your ability to handle foreign texts at a high level. You could link this to Geography and General Studies by talking about an appreciation of the world around us, and increased understanding of verying cultures. Really though, I don't think you have to mention all your A Level studies within the personal statement (which led to a memorable argument with a woman from the Oxford Access Scheme). Regardless of whether you decide to study spanish it should be mentioned within the personal statement, because in learning it indpendently of your other studies, you have shown maturity and drive beyond that expected; skills which are needed for high success at university.

    Hope this helps.

Go on to www.studential.com You will find lots if suggestions, help and even a few sample PS's for you to look at. There is also the facility to send in some or all of your PS so that a selected reviewer can help by commenting. It's quite safe as only accredited reviewers (like me - a geography teacher and Sixth form tutor) have access to your statements - and we are all well known to the site administrator.
