argh still random illness!

Right, I wrote on here a few months back, as I was constantly ill. Constantly fatigued, occasional flu-like symptoms, swore throats, which led the docs to think it was tonsilitis. I had a blood test as the penicillin didnt work, and they thought it might have been glandular fever. Now that's come back negative, they havent left me with any other alternatives. I'm constantly weak, can't go to the gym anymore, constantly fatigued beyong belief, had to go home from work ill yesterday, and this has been worsening for months. I keep feeling faint, and having spells of dizziness, but my routine or eating habits havent changed much. I can't train anymore as i just dont have the energy so have lost about half a stone (although I generally fluctuate from 13 to 14 stones anyway judging on training regime)

any advice? It's getting to the stage where it's becoming debilitating, as I can't go about my normal routine as I used to. I constantly feel like I have a cold, but on top of that the dizzizness and fatigue. It's making me irritable and occasionally moody, but the doctors since seeing its not g fever, dont seem to be in a rush to invite me for more appointments. If one more person says 'drink more fluids' or 'more vitamins', I'm going to shoot them. It's the easy-answer response I keep getting, and I take ample of both daily.

any advice? anyone else had this??

cheers

go to the gp again, and keep going back till they refer you so you can finally be looked at properly.

I was like this for my last few years at school so I know how your feeling. I was finally diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome after pestering the doctors for ages. You should definately see the doctor again and just pester them. My mum looked up all my symptoms and she was the one who told the doctors what she thought i had and she was right. You should maybe look up different illnesses and take print outs to the doctors. They might take it more seriously when you show how worried you are.

Hope this helps

thanks  Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - how did that effect your school work and how did they suggest you go about recovery? Thing is, I didn't want to go in suggesting things it could be so the doctor doesnt either a) falsely diagnose me or b) think i'm routing for medication or time of work or similar?

Just made me another appointment  I just want it sorted asap as it's wrecking my life atm! I'll hit google next - thanks:smile:

well i missed school for the about a year and a half. When i finally went back for 6th year i was still not right. Never managed to sit as many exams as i would have liked because they school were worried it would make me ill again.
The doctors just tried to get me back into a routine again and not to push myself too much. I'm back to my usual self now and only have to watch in the winter time because I seem to have a low immune system since having it. I was dancing 4-5 days a week before i took ill and they say that its fit and active people who seem to be hit with it. Just thought I'd mention that seeing that you went to the gym lol

Hope you get things sorted soon!
